Engineering firms nationwide use us for overflow manufacturing drafting services when their team is at capacity. When a plant adds a line or reworks its layout, the drawings have to reflect what is actually on the floor. Since 1999, CAD Designers has helped manufacturers and the engineering firms that serve them with line layouts, plant additions, as-builts and electrical, mechanical and structural drawings. We can audit conditions in your facility and draw from what we find, so your team can stay focused on production. We serve clients across the United States, and all work is completed by our drafting team in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Manufacturing Experience
CAD Designers has worked with manufacturing companies and engineering firms on a wide range of projects, from plant additions and line redesigns to keeping facility as-builts current. On one project, we took an in-line production line and produced drawings for a U-shaped line layout designed to raise overall parts per minute (PPM). Our senior designers have spent their careers in the manufacturing and engineering industries, with experience in mechanical, structural and process drafting. Our staff is trained to audit conditions within your facility and provide drawings based on what we measure in the field.

How a Project Works
- Kickoff. We start with a short call to learn your goals, your CAD standards and your preferred drawing formats. If you have a title block or template, we use it.
- Field audit, if needed. For as-builts and existing conditions, we can visit the facility, measure and photograph what is there, and draw from our audit.
- Drafting and QA. Every drawing is checked against your template and standards before it leaves our hands, and we aim for 90 percent or better by the time you review it.
- Redlines. Send back your markups and we return revisions by the next business day.
Software and File Formats
We work in AutoCAD and deliver native DWG files along with PDFs. We can work in your template, layer standards and title blocks, so the drawings drop straight into your project set.
Why Engineering Firms Use Us for Overflow
Hiring a drafter for a busy quarter is expensive and slow. Many of our larger clients use CAD Designers as an overflow team when a project spikes, and smaller clients use us for all of their drafting. Either way, you add capacity exactly when you need it, with no long-term overhead, and a team that has been doing this work since 1999.
Turnaround and Quality
We meet the exacting deadlines that the manufacturing industry expects, and we have the ability to meet the fast pace manufacturing deliverables require.
Our philosophy is simple: Customer, Time Management and Quality Assurance. Our customer comes first. We communicate clearly and provide what you need when you need it.
Through our Quality Assurance program, every drawing is reviewed and checked against the template provided by our clients, and we expect drawings to be at 90 percent or better by the time you review them. Drawings are produced to the standards you specify. Our goal is to give you a final product that meets your objectives on a fast-paced timeline.
